The Process of Teeth Alignment with Braces at Cosmetique Dental™
Here at Cosmetique Dental™, we offer teeth alignment in several options, clear aligners or fixed braces, which is the most traditional time. I, myself, do both, and sometimes clear aligners and braces are actually indicated in certain situations.
For example, for braces, a lot of the time, braces are used for teenagers purely because of a compliance point of view. When you put braces in the mouth, it guarantees me complete compliance. That means I don’t have to worry about the patient taking aligners in and out all the time, and also guarantees that the results will be very predictable within a certain timeline.
Braces also help with severe crowding or severe malocclusion.
If your teeth are very rotated or in a basically extremely bad position. Sometimes, clear aligners may not be able to be the most efficient solution out there, where braces are unfortunately the most traditional and also the most effective in these cases.
Once braces are done and they’re put on the teeth over several months, so maybe a year or so, the teeth will move very, very slowly into the new position, according to what we want. Once they’re in the new position and the teeth look fabulous, we take the braces off, clean the teeth, and place the teeth in retainers.
Now, retainers can be either a clear retainer that you just wear at night or a fixed option. So, a fixed option is basically a custom-made wire that sits behind the teeth, and it’s almost like a set-and-forget.
Each treatment plan for each patient is tailor-made, and we would advise you on the pros and cons of choosing either option. But, obviously, we have your best interest at heart, and we’ll never push a treatment plan that is not suitable for you. If you like a consultation, just give us a call or visit our website.
