CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a state-of-the-art dental technology that uses computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to produce a custom-fitted crown during a single visit. The process begins with a digital 3D scan of your tooth, which replaces the need for traditional, messy impression trays. This digital model is then used to design your bespoke crown on a computer.
Once the design is finalised, the data is sent to an in-house milling unit at our Cosmetique Dental™ clinic. This machine precisely carves your new crown from a solid block of high-quality ceramic that is colour-matched to your teeth. The outcome is a durable, well-fitting restoration that can be bonded into place on the same day.

The CEREC same-day crown process condenses a traditionally multi-week procedure into a single, seamless appointment, all thanks to advanced digital workflow and in-house technology.
1. Consultation and Digital Scan
After determining that a crown is the best solution for your tooth, we prepare the tooth and take a quick, comfortable 3D digital scan. This creates a precise virtual model of your teeth.
2. Computer-Aided Crown Design
Using the 3D model, your dentist designs your custom crown on the CEREC software. You can watch as we digitally shape the restoration, ensuring it will fit accurately and support a balanced bite.
3. In-House Milling
Your approved design is sent wirelessly to our on-site milling machine. The unit then meticulously fabricates your crown from a block of tooth-coloured ceramic, a process that typically takes less than 20 minutes.
4. Custom Finishing and Bonding
Once milled, your dentist will add custom stains and glazes to help the crown blend naturally with your surrounding teeth. It is then tried in for fit and finally bonded securely into place, completing your restoration.
